FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does a content writer charge for a blog?
My rates for blog writing range from £65 to £300 depending on the length. You can check out all my services and prices here.
Do you offer reductions for bulk bookings?
Yes, I can arrange a discounted rate based on blog frequency. Contact me to work something out.
Why should I blog?
Business blogging is a chance to establish your voice and position as an expert in your field. Blogs help showcase your brand and add value for your clients. A good blog is also a powerful SEO and lead-generation tool. Search engines love unique, regularly updated content that just so happens to be rich with seamlessly integrated keywords and phrases. But to seem credible, it also needs to flow naturally, be engaging, relatable and useful.

Who owns the copyright to the work you write?

You do. You pay me to write it, then you can do whatever you like with it. Some of my clients' blogs have even been picked up and published by national and trade press, and that is great news as far as I'm concerned. Even if I don't get the by-line.

Do you write email content/website content/case studies/press releases etc?

Yes, I have experience writing all sorts of content including all of the above along with marketing emails, awards entry writing, school prospectus and handbooks, white papers, eBooks, and more. My rates are detailed above, but roughly work out to be 15p per word or £50 per hour. Go to my rates and services page to see what I do and how much I charge.

Do you come up with the blog idea or do I?

Good question. It's entirely up to you. If you have a strong idea of what you want to say, or you want to keep costs low, then you give me suggested titles and topics and brief research and I do the writing. If you want me to come up with your blog ideas and present them to you for approval I can do this. I will research your business, your market, your competitors, and using your keyword research I will put together a schedule of titles for you. I charge £30 per blog for this service, and most of my clients prefer me to take the blog and run with it.

How do I know what to blog about?

If you want to manage your own blog topics, I suggest you start by checking out as many competitor blogs as you can. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but never copy, just take inspiration. Look at recent trends and news in your industry, and think about your own unique take on it and your company values. Think about what your clients want to read about and how you can help them and give them engaging, useful content to read over a cuppa. Then write about that.

Can you send me samples of your work?

Take a look at my online portfolio here for samples of my work.

Can we talk on the phone about my content marketing needs?

Absolutely, just drop me a Whatsapp message or an email and we can set up a half-hour call to go through things.

Do you have experience writing for my niche?

You can always try me! After many years of this, I have very diverse experience! But even if I don't have direct experience writing for your niche, I promise I can make my content sound authentic and authoritative. I pride myself on my adaptability and research skills. And the ability to make it sound like I know what I'm talking about on pretty much any subject.

Do you provide images with your content?

Yes, all my blogs arrive with multiple relevant free-use images with attributions. The reason for this is that images are essential for SEO, but also because people prefer text that is broken up with images. Blog content with images receives 94% more views. (Source: Social Media Today).

How much do freelance writers usually charge for a blog?

A blog costs what a blog costs - it varies wildly. You'll find someone to write your blog for a fiver, or £500. I'm somewhere in the middle, I'm not the cheapest, but I'm nowhere near the most expensive. I think the law of diminishing returns dictates that you'll get significantly better results by hiring me over the person charging £5, but the ROI will decrease as you go higher up the pricing scale. I charge fairly for my time and the value of my skills, and I do discount for commitment.

What if I'm not happy with your work?

I provide unlimited revisions until you are! I must say, it hasn't happened yet. Check out my testimonials for reassurance.
